Toddler & Me Series

We have expanded our Mommy & Me program to include the next phase: a Toddler & Me series!

Led by an experienced early childhood development expert with an extensive background working with parents and children, presented topics reflect the needs of each group and include everything from tantrums to mealtime. In addition to facilitated topics each week, classes also include songs, child-led play, sensory exploration, and story time.

Topics (may include): regulation, conflict resolution, supporting independence, nap transitions, evolving toddler mealtimes, and more.

Structure:

  • Songs and movement
  • Storytime and snack
  • Topic discussion
  • Child-led exploratory play/sensory play

  • Parachute/good-bye song

DURATION: 8- week series, 1 hour and 15 minutes per class

This is Two

Similar to Toddler & Me, but for two-year olds.

The twos bring with them a reputation for let’s be honest, being terrible but it doesn’t have to be that way! Gaining an understanding of your two-year-old’s behavior from a child development expert, with hands-on learning for you and your little one can help make this time less frustrating for everyone. The cherry on top: there are fun activities for the kids, too!

Topics (may include): social skills/play behaviors, menu ideas, regulation, conflict resolutions series, preschool readiness, sibling rivalry/peer relations, supporting language development, building empathy, and more.

Toddler Parenting Workshop Series

Toddler help is here! The Family Room’s The Family Room’s Toddler Parenting Workshop Series includes multiple classes on important toddler topics. Without children present, parents have the opportunity to truly focus on the discussion, as well as the freedom to openly share. You will learn from a child development expert how to build a foundation for your parenting with time dedicated to navigating the challenging moments and real-life scenarios.

The Basics:

  • The classes are led by an experienced child development expert.
  • Each class is 90 minutes with time allotted for questions.
  • We are offering the series in packages of 4 classes, 6 classes, or 8 classes.
  • This series will be held twice a month on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 8:30 pm.

DURATION: 8-week series

November 7: Growth Mindset and Effective Praise

Gain an understanding of fixed versus growth mindset and why fostering a growth mindset is important for your child.

November 14: Sibling Relationships

Nurture the special connection between your children to strengthen their bond and discover how to teach love, respect, boundaries, privacy, and problem-solving for when things get tricky.

November 28: Emotional Intelligence and Regulation

Teach your child empathy and learn how self-regulation is an important tool for managing conflicts.

December 12: Screen Time

The big question: “How much is too much?” Learn tips to use screens responsibly.
